Sarasota BMX Is Going to Australia: Meet Our Team USA Qualifiers

Some things you just don't see coming. Earlier this year, four kids from our “little” BMX track on Tuttle Avenue — a track that's been here since 1974, longer than most of its riders have been alive — earned spots on Team USA to compete at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane, Australia this July.
Let that sink in. Out of thousands of young riders competing across the entire country, only 16 riders per age group earn a place on the U.S. team. And Sarasota? We've got four of them.
A HUGE congrats is deserved as we prepare to watch Caspian Reeves, Austin Lumley, and Connor Beckley on the big stage in Brisbane. We also want to give a huge shoutout to Beckham Mabe, who qualified as well — a massive achievement. While he won't be able to make the May 29 event, his qualification is every bit as worth celebrating. We see you, Beckham!Â
MEET YOUR RIDERS!
![]() | Connor Beckley | Age 13 | Profile Factory Race Team Connor is as second-generation as it gets. He didn't just grow up around BMX — he grew up on it, hitting the track for the first time back in 2015 when most kids his age were still figuring out training wheels. Now he's racing for the Profile Factory team and representing the United States on the world stage in two (not one, but TWO) racing categories. Connor has put in every bit of the work to earn this spotlight. |
![]() | Austin "Aussie" Lumley | Age 11 | S Squared Race Team Here's a detail that's almost too good to be true: Austin's dad is from Australia. So when Austin races at the World Championships in Brisbane this July, he'll be doing it on his dad's home turf — racing under the American flag, repping S Squared Race Team, with three years of serious competition already under his belt. The nickname "Aussie" hits a little different now, doesn't it? We can't write a better story than that. |
![]() | Caspian Reeves | Age 7 Don't let the age fool you. Caspian has been racing since he was 4 years old, and anyone who's watched him on the track knows he brings a fire that riders twice his age would envy. When he's not dominating on the BMX track, he's also out there kicking butt at lacrosse — because apparently one sport just isn't enough for this kid. Caspian is fierce, fearless, and heading to Brisbane. Watch out, world. |
