All things BMX and a little extra — May 2026 edition
 | This month, we've got something really special to share — and it's the kind of news that makes you proud to be part of this community. Four of our very own riders have earned spots on Team USA to compete at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane, Australia this July. Out of thousands of young riders across the entire country, only 16 per age group make the U.S. team — and Sarasota BMX has four of them. Four. From our little track on Tuttle Avenue that's been here since 1974. We're throwing a sendoff race on Thursday, May 29 — practice at 6pm, racing at 7pm — and we want the whole community there. All ages welcome. Come race, cheer them on, and let's make some noise before they head to Brisbane. These are your riders. Let's send them off right. |
🏆 Rider of the Month: Connor Beckley
April's Rider of the Month was Connor Beckley — and if you've been around the track lately, you already know why. Connor is as second-generation as it gets. He first hit the track back in 2015, and now at 13, he's racing for the Profile Factory Race Team and heading to Brisbane as a Team USA qualifier — competing in not one, but two racing categories on the world stage. He's been putting in the work for years, and this is the moment it all comes together. Congrats, Connor — go show the world what Sarasota BMX is made of!
🙌 Volunteer of the Month: Ryan Beckley
April's Volunteer of the Month was Ryan Beckley — and yes, Connor's dad has clearly got the BMX bug too. Ryan works behind the scenes keeping the track looking sharp, from stickers to signage. In a pinch, you might even catch him on the mic doing announcements (we appreciate it, Ryan, even if we can't confirm it's his favorite job). He shows up, he helps out, and he makes this place better without asking for credit. That's exactly the kind of community this track is built on. Thank you, Ryan — we see everything you do!

Sometimes a photo just stops you in your tracks. This black-and-white from Jakob Kaiser may be from earlier in the season, but we're still catching up — and honestly, we're suckers for the vintage vibe. Thanks for sharing this one, Jakob. It's a keeper.
🏕️ At the Track: USAC BMX Camps
Big things are happening here at Sarasota BMX this month! May 25–30, an elite squad of Team USA Men and Women training for LA28 will be on our track all week — with return visits planned for July, September, and October leading up to the 2026 UCI BMX World Cup, held right here in Sarasota on October 30–31 & November 1.
Plus, the Worlds Ready BMX Camp offers Challenge Riders heading to Brisbane a full mock race weekend to get competition-ready before the big stage.
